Today was busy involving lots of people. I took my car in to Shaw's
Service station in Sperryville for service. I left it there and walked
through Sperryville to the Caregiver's meeting. I really enjoyed the walk
and saw things one would never see even when driving 25 mph through the village.

Wendy Weinburg owns a lovely theatre in Little Washington, The Theatre at
Washington VA
. We can thank her for bring the Smithsonian to Rappahannock County as well as many other shows. Last weekend was a jazz group..

Another lunch buddy today is Susan Dienelt who throws the most beautiful pots and plates imaginable, not to mention her incredible scones (see recipe in last year's July 28th blog). Another lunch buddy today was Joan Vernikos who was the medical wellness doctor with NASA for many years. She now spends a good deal of time traveling to discuss her books on health. I've mentioned them before in other blogs. Sharon Kilpatrick is the mainstay with our lunch bunch and she spends a good deal of time preparing to sell her house before moving to Denver.

I had a new worker mucking the paddock and grounds yesterday. In five hours he produced only five wheelbarrow loads. Clearly mucking was new to him and required careful examination of the rake with each deposit into the wheelbarrow. There must be other jobs he enjoys doing more.

Tomorrow I'll be giving the final approval of new Conyers House postcards. I think there is one on our Face Book page.

That's enough for today . . .

    New Page 1

This blog will tell you about running this place day in and day out; Alex, our exuberant Jack Russell, and the dynamics between our four horses. You’ll read about trail rides and fox hunts; weddings; where the guests go during the day and morning reports of their dinners at local restaurants, visits to vineyards, antique shops and Castleton Festival concerts, climbing Old Rag or kayaking on the Huges River. Blogging for you will be fun—until I run out of steam. I hope you’ll share our enthusiasm for living in the country and enjoying our guests.
