About the Innkeeper

Picture
Sandra was born in Washington DC and raised in Maryland. She and her late husband, Norman, moved here from Kenwood in Chevy Chase, having bought the house as a weekend getaway in 1979, and two years later, after adding plumbing and electricity, decidd to try innkeeping. By that time, Sandra's two children had gone off to Middlebury and Ohio Wesleyan respectively. Norman continued to commute to Washington while Sandra ran the then B&B (the first in Rappahannock County). We later morphed into a country inn by virtue of offering dinners and horseback riding, which made us a destination.

Sandra is an avid rider and most enjoys foxhunting. She will gladly take you to see the hunt off of a Sunday morning before taking you on a fabulous trail ride.
