Musings of an Innkeeper

Welcome to the blog for The Conyers House Inn & Stable. This is our thirtieth year of owning and running Conyers in beautiful Rappahannock County, Virginia. We began as a B&B, but became an Inn when we got too many rooms (six being the limit). Today we have five rooms in the main house, and two little out buildings which are guest quarters too. This blog will tell you about running this place day in and day out; the dynamics between four horses, and two exuberant Jack Russells. You’ll read about weddings my husband conducts; trail rides and fox hunts I go on; where the guests go during the day and their reports of their dinners the next morning. You’ll read why the guests come to Rappahannock—maybe for the Castleton Festival in July, maybe to climb Old Rag or White Oak Canyon, maybe to celebrate July 4th, maybe to celebrate an anniversary or birthday, maybe to attend the Dukes of Hazzard Reunion with thousands of others, maybe to attend the Thornton Hill Point to Point, maybe to enjoy our many wineries.

Blogging for you will be fun—until I run out of steam. I hope you’ll share our enthusiasm for living in the country and enjoying our guests.
